Key directions of implementation of regional economic policy in Russia in the new reality

Abstract

The article reveals the conditions of a new reality for the development of the economy of Russia and its regions, in particular, the increasing trends in the penetration of digital technologies into all spheres of human activity, the impact of the COVID–19 coronavirus pandemic on the economic and social sphere. The essence of the digital economy and the conditions for the successful introduction of digital technologies into the economy and social sphere are revealed. The measures of the federal and regional policy of social support of the population during the COVID–19 coronavirus pandemic are investigated. On the example of the Tambov region, the directions of the implementation of regional economic policy in the conditions of a new reality are considered. The conclusion is made about the sufficiency of regional economic policy measures to achieve the strategic development goals of the region.
