Сегодня северный морской путь — это интернациональная торговая магистраль, пространство движения транспортных грузопотоков между рынками Тихого и Атлантического океанов. Рост перевозок по Северному морскому пути связан, в том числе, с изменением климата и глобальным потеплением, которое происходит уже в течение нескольких десятков лет. Исследователи отмечают возможные негативные и позитивные последствия процесса глобального потепления для экономики и экологии. Россия играет ведущую роль в обеспечении безопасности Северного морского пути и надёжного эффективного контроля над морскими пространствами и побережьем.
Today the Northern Sea Route is an international trade route, a space for the movement of freight traffic between the markets of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The growth of traffic along the Northern Sea Route is associated, among other things, with climate change and global warming, which has been going on for several decades. Researchers note the possible negative and positive consequences of the global warming process for the economy and the environment. Russia plays a leading role in ensuring the security of the Northern Sea Route and reliable and effective control over sea spaces and coastlines.
